Amid the piles of waste CD's spilling from desk, wardrobe and drawers, one gem recently shone as brightly as those that Kanye chats about. Despite being given a 'soft' (for which read 'air') release in the UK, Cole's 'The Way It Is' album is massive. A brilliant blend of upfront tell-it-how-it-is R&B, heart-tugging soul and delicious drums patterns, Cole not only takes you to church, she drives you there, parks you on the front pew, hands you an ice-cold lemonade and sermonizes like a motherfunker in ya ear. This Cali chick is so heavy she makes Mr D look (emcee) light. If you enjoyed the triple-threat of Mariah, Teedra and Faith in the 05 go get the fourth installment cos this album gets more brapples than both Bramley's and apples....
