JUst back from getting my party on in Denmark where I was over for the MTV European Music Awards in the very chilly Copenhagen. But while the city might have been cold as hell, the nightlife was pretty darned hot!
Starting off at Snoop`s album release launch, we partied to the early hours with the Bigg Dogg as he played brand new tracks from forthcoming album, The Blue Carpet Treatment. Boasting beats from Timbaland, Pharrell, Nottz, Soopafly and the one and only Doc Dre, the record sounds fire. Particulalry hot were Dre`s Imagine and a track with Jamie Foxx called Pssst. After his last R&B `Masterpiece`, `Blue Carpet` sees the Boss return to that hard-hitting, Cali-forn-I-a sound that you just gotta love.
Also in the house was Timbaland, the man behind one of my fave tracks of the year, My Love. Seeing my enthusiasm for the track (which was quite a lot after rinsing out the free bar!), which I demanded get a two-time reload, Tim dropped two brand new tracks due for release in '07. Ok, so he would have dropped em anyway, but allow me to dreama little dream. Anyway, one was a new JT track and the other featured Tim, Justin and Nelly Furtado, this new 'supergroup' Ms Nelly wanted to put together, Looks like they have!
Talking of Justin, Britney`s ex did a sterling job of hosting this years show. Alongside co-hosts Trevor Nelson, Kelis and Juliette Lewis, the trousersnake took the piss out of himself, The Hoff and even MTV. Cant lie though, being stuck in a press room is a bit dry , the fun was defintely onstage and backstage...
Later that night, we swept by the P Diddy party to see the Didster do his thing on the mic and get the party hype. Cassie, Rihanna, Pharrell and a host of other stars backed down bare booze and canapes as Puff reminded them `its Bad Boy bitch!`
Heading to the Interscope party, spotted actor Adrian Brody, Snoop`s crew and Pharrell (who was obviously doing the rounds). The highlight of the night had to be seeing a Henna tatoo covered Nelly Furtado belt out three hits in front of the celeb-filled crowd. She may be small but the girl can belt those notes out.
By 5am I were ready to call it a night. Who knew partying could be so much work?
Hooray for the weekend, I say
