Just been to a screening of an amazing new documentary. Not sure when it's out here (maybe April) but you have to check it. It's about two brothers from Haiti (2Pac and Bily) who live in the capital Port-Au-Prince. They are leaders of the Chimeres (which means ghosts in Haitian), a gang who run the slums. I don't know how the film-maker got so much access, but it's a very stark glimpse into one of the poorest, most violent countries in the world and the very real affect that corrupt govenments have on the lives and deaths of millions of people.
The UN call Haiti a 'silent emergency.' This film lends a very loud voice to show how desperately the situation must be sorted.
