Three Legends For One

Living up to his name on an evermore daily basis, the Leg that is John is making bigger and bigger moves. Caught up with him aftershow at Shepard's Bush on Monday (azyado!) where he told me on the excloos that he's just finished writing a song for the Queen Of Soul herself, Ms Aretha Franklin. Big Tings! The track, fingers crossed, should become a duet with the King of Soul, Stevie Wonder for a forthcoming duet album from Franklin. No wonder Ms RESPECT hired Legend - for my money 'Get Lifted' is oh-so-high on the list of top 2005 albums - in fact I had it on heavy rotation to and from the Middle East - we're talking eight hour straight stints of the soul man. Since the show my addiction has worsened as I've shoved aside Roll Deep, Mariah, even the ace Amerie CD (which is fire-fire-fire!!!) for the Leg. What was it Kanye said? 'The future...'? Oh yeah, 'John' also told me that while he hasn't worked on the new Lauren Hill album, L Boogie will be touring Europe this summer. I've got the c/card ready and I'm standing near the phone - Ticketmaster here I come! Anyway, if you haven't got 'Get Lifted', fix up, look sharp - you need it in your life! www.johnlegend.com
