Missy Cooks Up Another Classic
We all hate to admit it, but Missy went a bit crap on the last album. When someone so creative goes so poo, it hurts. So imagine my relief when a finished copy of the Cookbook finally plopped on my doormat this morn. Fire, in a word. Granted there’s no Get Ya Freak On or Supa Dupa Fly, but Missy still surprises by managaing to create an album that is lyrically ore proficient than anything she’s done before while providing beats that are seriously slamming. The Vybez Cartel/ MIA track is the stand-out on first listen, but the Grand Puba cut is mammoth too. This album is good. Really very good. Go on the Miss E.
