Hurricane Rita. Luckily Miami itself was spared any real damage, but the Keys got hit hard and, as we know, the Gulf States too. While it wasn't as bad as forecasters predicted, certainly in comparison to Katrina anyway, it was still serious damage and while I have no idea what a 'real' hurricane is like, just the small taster I had was plenty. Global warming or whatever it is that is creating this chaos sucks. Hard.
