Went to a screening of the Fiddy flick the other day and was honestly pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a trite, poorly acted, ultra-violent mish-mash of a movie. While it was too gruesome in places and 50 is hardly in line for an Oscar, this is a really well directed movie. Terrence Howard proves why he is the man iof the moment right now, Joy Bryant did the damn thing and Asher D, despite a weird Jafakian accent repped really well. We all know the 'shot-9-times' story and there is barely disguised references to Ja Rule and Supreme, but as a straight-up two hours of entertainment. Director Jim Sheridan did a good job. It also made me like 50 again. I've been banging Guess Who's Back all week. Come back old 50, we miss you.
