I'll probably get nominated and kicked out the Brits...

So Kano got nominated (whether he'll get kicked out we'll have to wait and see) for the best urban act. All good, and no offense to the other nominees but I think Kane definitely deserves it this year. But how come he didn't get a Best Newcomer, Best Album or Best British Act though? As far as I can see those nominations are overwhelmingly dominated by indie/ guitar music. Now I know that is all in vogue right now, but surely they should mix it up a bit? How can the Brits panel not see that album as one of the most innovative records of the year?
Best male: Anthony Johson (who records and lives in america, but whatever), Ian Brown (need I say more?) Robbie (fair enough), Blunt (personally can't stand but again fair enough), Will Young (fair enough). There are, in my opinion, two very questionable slots there, one of which should have been filled by Kano. He's young, British, making british music in britain and he's involved in creating a totally new sound. Granted, he's not pioneering it in the way So Solid or Diz did but surely that should be recognised?
British album - again, Home Sweet Home is genre-defying, enigmatic, exciting, unusual..everything that Blunt and Coldplay aren't. I know peeps love those guys, but why do the Brits continually revert to type? It's like thy're incapable of taking a risk. So he didn't sell a million records to make him a 'breakthrough' artist - well, nor did the Monkeys when those nominations were announed.
Had they put Kano in just one other category outside urban - bearing in mind there are NO urban acts nominated in any other British-based catergory - then they woudn't look quite as biased and prejudiced towards boring old 'safe' guitar groups. It's telling that RWD weren't asked to contribute to nominations process - surely as the UK's Biggest Urban title (26,000 ABC'd unlike ANY other urban mag) we should warrent a say? What a load of arse I say.
