-Despite being proper knackered after a late night the night before (post Brits party asyado with Prince, Marilyn Manson, Paris Hilton and, best of all, Jeremy Clarkson), I was physically unable to leave the 333 until gone 4am. Kicking off with my (not so good) self and Fiddy pon decks, we were starting to sweat at Stanza's lateness as we were running low on the grime. Hadn't intended to play much but once we began on it, there was no going back (especially with our lack of technical skills). Anyway, luckily Stanza arrived and did his Scandalous set - Scorcher definitely stole the spotlight there. I'd heard good things about Purple live (he did good at Urban Classics apparently) and really liked his spots on Eye Of The Tiger, but Scorcher seemed to have the lyrical upper-hand on this occasion. Watch out more for that guy, I reckon he's about to have a good year. JME and Skepta put in a great set - tho I've seen them get better reactions, the crowd seemed kinda low energy in places - with JME particularly amusing during his Shh Hut Yuh Muh and Don't. Get. Rude. moments - both he and Skepta have great stage presence and put proper effort in. Other great moments came from Tiny 'Swiiiiiiiiing' Temper, the Murkle Man and Kronik tho seeing D Double do his thing was just too good. He might not move, and yes he's given to mumbling but he's just amazing to watch. And lyrically, hes still leagues ahead of so many others. Was just on the way out when Ears and Ghetto turned the energy back up during Logan's shower hour. Ghetto is completley sick - he has a whole other thing going on. He maybe too grimy for mainstream tastes but I reckon he'll go down a storm on the festival circuit this year - those indie kids are gonna go nuts when they see him live. Incredible. Overall, it was great to see the reactions of people watching - some people quite rightly looked amazed particularly at the moments where the MCs got excited. Nice too to see people smiling and having a good time - the way raving should be!
