From the 8 tracks I heard once, I'm not so sure. I remember though going to the Usher and Mariah playback (both heavily JDproduced) and thinking they were both a bit dry. About a month later when I had the labums proper to listen to from the confort of my own flat, they swiftly became two of my favourite R&B albums of the last few years. So maybe JD's production is a grower? The thing is, I felt more like the beats on the whole were pretty darned big (there's some Jam & Lewis production too) but JJ's breathy/ whispery vocal just couldn't cut it in the sae way as Mimi and Ushykins.
Maybe I need more plays, but by about track 6 I was actually a bit bored and waiting for JD to stop playing us anymore.
NB: I nearly broke my foot trying to do that Rhythm Nation dance pon chair, so please know I'm a fan of the Nipple-bearer. But lately, well, what has she done for me?
