As has previously been reported upon this very blog, I was pretty bewildered that I didn't get to interview Diz this time round, let alone listen to the album before it came out. In fact, I never did get sent it, but, hey, thank God for downloading, eh (I bought Wiley, Tinchy, Ghetto etc, etc though cos I do support like that).
Anyway, I might still be peeved but good lord above, this might be one of the finest freestyles I've seen in four years.
The flow, the way he switches from subject to subject, the lyricism, the breath control is truly flawless. I used to think Semtex was exaggerating when he said Dizzee was a genius, and while I still don't know if I'd go that far, he is truly incredible and deserves all the success he gets, and more - even if they have decided to ignore (by they I mean, well I presume management and label) the very place from where he came - the black press.
So anyway, here's Diz on Tim Weest w-double-o-d. It's like 10 minutes long or something, but I swear if I could get this on audio, I'll happily listen to this over whatever the new album is called (totally can't remember, is that bad?).
Enjoy...
