I mean, is T.I. really that silly to trust a bodyguard he's known for five months? If you're spending up to $25,000 to get illegal guns cos you, as a convicted felon, aren't allowed to have them, why not spend a little more and get a high-level weed-carrier to hold the hash and the hand-guns (or, in Tip's case, the machine-guns?).

Over at MediaTakeOut.com, things are perhaps not all they seem. Trust the 'hip hop police' to be found sniffing not to far away from the scene of the crime. Is this all a set-up?

"The most startling detail we've uncovered is that federal agents used TI's own bodyguard to set him up!! According to a person intimately close to the investigation, TI's bodyguard's was arrested earlier this year on gun possession charges. But instead of accepting the charge, the bodyguard agreed to cooperate with federal agents and participate in a sting operation designed to catch rapper T.I.

And the sting worked. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com that earlier today, the bodyguard managed to coax T.I. into purchasing a machine gun from him. That's when, we learned, the feds moved in and arrested TI. After the arrest, the agents conducted a search of TI's home where they reportedly turned up a cache of weapons - including machine guns with silencers."

TI remains in custody having been refused bail...
