Shout The Sugababes!

I rates the Sugababes, I don't care! Their performance for Hugo Boss at Cargo last night was good, good, good. Some people think they murdered En Vogue's Don't Let Go but I thought it was aight. Plus, Freak Like Me, Here Come The Girls and Push The Buttons sounded so good. That said, I wish they'd done Too Lost In You. And, no offense to Amelle, but I do wish Mutya was still a member, cos I did love her and Keisha's vocals together. But hey, things happen.

Anyhoo, I had a great day yesterday as one of the judges for the HUGO URBAN Rules competition (the Sugababes performance later that night was part of it, obvs). As well as talking to the final 50-odd performers (hope I didn't bore everyone!) beforehand, I was also on the panel to pick a winner. Man, now I really know how those X-Factor fools must feel - it's HARD! (And, no, before you ask I didn't get my Cowell on. I'd like to think of myself as an older, wider, poorer version of Cheryl thanks).

Heidi, Mutya and Amelle were really down-to-earth and put a lot of effort into talking to people and encouraging the emerging talent. Plus they were mad funny on certain questions from the floor ("Can you girls cook?" "What kinda chance has man got with you." "I have a boyfriend, but I admire your swagger, I love that," quipped Keisha).

There can of course only be one winner, and XO-Man took the trophy (well, plaque), as decided by myself,Jason Knight, Twin A, Manny Norte and Don-E. His Lady Dog and Microwave tunes were funny, inventive and out-of-the-ordinary. I've seen X0 around and about, and he's always working hard, handing out CDs and clocking up a lot of live appearances. I really hope he does well. Check out the 6'10 performer right HERE
