Just realised that I interviewed Dolla at the Power Summit in the Dominican Republic back in 2006.
To be honest, it was seeing this picture of his tattoos on Perez that reminded me. He was there with another young kid and I talked to them briefly for a minute or two before taking Dolla's pic (the B&W one). They said they were starting out as rappers, I think they might have kicked a little freestyle, but we didn't talk long.
I have to say Rest In Peace to Dolla. From the reports so far, it seems like a tiny, stupid situation that got blown out of proportion by an utter dickhead. Unfortunately, as we know, this happens all the damn time...
