Oh my daze the ATL is one crazy-ass city. Spent what feels like a lifetime in strip clubs (Blaze, Body Tap and Goosebumps) watching drooling rappers tuck dollar bills into g-strings. But hey, at least I know what p***y-popping actually looks like now. The best thing about the clubs has to be the music – there are some crazy tunes coming out of the ATL at the mo. Gucci Mane’s ‘So Icey’ is on a thugged-out baller-baller steez, while South West Click’s ‘I Need Dubs’, based on LL’s ‘I Need Love’ is so, so def. As I mentioned on a previous post, Field Mob are doing it too with ‘Georgia’, as are YY with their ‘Wait (The Whisper Song).’ I can quite safely say those Twinz are nutters, but then, when you are smoking at like 10am, it’s no surprise that your conversational skills are somewhat impaired. Hooked up with Lil Jon, Stat Quo and the big man David Banner as well as checking out the Underground Mall and the Beautiful restaurant. Shouts outs to the crew who went with: Chris B, Sunil, the Silverfox, Mark, Semtex, Masterstepz, Martin Moulton, Steve Sutherski and Dan Greenpeace who gets a big braaaap for the Stat and Banner hook-ups! Would love to write more, but newly fixed laptop is still not quite right and of course have a whole heap of stuff to write up before I start the RWD gig next week (that’s right, hate it or love it, I’m the new editor at the UK’s finest urban mag). Picked up a number of mixtapes and DVD’s and am in the process of wading thru so will post about them all shortly….
