Recently signed to The Beats (Mike Skinner) you can pick up his mixtape, The Lecture at all good record shops now (Deal Real def have copies). 14 songs deep, he's kept it proper tight, barely is a beat wasted or a line waste. Here's a highlight of some of the witty one-liners :

"I ain't a vampire, but ask anyone I drink, blud"

"I don't care if you can't stand Pro Green, sit down"

"Jewrellry? i shine in a way you can't bling/ Like Ashanti, good songs but can't sing."

"This year I'm here, blowing up like backpacks on packed trains..I got presence like that guy tugging on Rudolph's reins."

"Skin fair/ Am I sick? Yeah/ I treat chicks mouth's like Fred West's basement and drop off kids there."

All that and flow that can flip at any given, sharp similes - "the shit I spit is sicker than Eazy E's old bitch" - and conceptual songs like Save Him (featuring the ever-fantastic Ny) as well as freestyles out-the-ass (the one from Semtex's show being partic ridiculous) make this kid a captivating one to watch.

Proving he's much more than 'just' a battle rapper, and yes he can translate from freestyle to written, Green is about to impress many. And this is just mixtape No 1? Watch this space. Or better yet, his myspace myspace.com/professorgreen
