Jazmine Sullivan - One of the albums of 08

Since I last blogged about Jazmine in June, I've had chance to cop the album and OHMYDAYYYZZZEEEE, it's a lot a lot.

I love this girl. I really hope she smashes it in 2009.

She's this month's Album of the Month in RWD:

Some people just do things differently. Granted, Sullivan has been compared to Lauren Hill, and yep, she sounds a lil Fugee on Need U Bad, but that’s just one side of this excellent soul singer. She takes it to the club on Dream Big, get’s ‘60s on One Night Stand, falls deep in love on Lions & Tigers, before breaking her ex’s Bimmer up on the brilliant Bust Your Windows. The stand-out though has to be the realer-than-real Call Me Guilty, where the Philly singer details domestic violence. From concepts to vocals to beats, this is a nearly perfect album and one that should be in the collection of all R&B fans. Buy it… now!
